During the lockdown (MCO) in Malaysia I finally found time to go through the many photos taken during our time in Malaysia and especially Borneo. Love the trails around Mount Kinabalu and the trail with the pitcher plants in Messilau. Finding pictures with stunning flora and fauna made me start a series called 'Memories'. Mixed media on acrylic paper mounted on plywood in aluminium frame approx 50 cm x 70 cm, textured and using acrylic paint & inks from Royal Talens and varnish from Liquitex.

This cat was one of the first I ever made and went to the Netherlands. After 8 years it returned to me and I had the opportunity to repaint it.

Two super old cats who are now in cat heaven painted on acrylic paper mounted on plywood both 30 cm x 30 cm, using acrylic paint & inks from Royal Talens and Liquitex varnish.

Worked on this for a few months using old newspapers and other recycling stuff. Inspired on a Black Boxfish (Ostracion Meleagris). Baia is apron 31 cm high (including pedestal) and 46 cm long. Painted with acrylics and glossy varnish (brand: Amsterdam from Royal Talens).

Iggy too is my latest painting on wood using a pouring method for the background and a clear medium for the lower part to keep some of the grain of the wood. Budge is inspired on the Hornbills living in Borneo and made from old newspapers, paper pulp and recycling materials. Budge is 52 cm tall (full height including pedestal). Painted with Amsterdam acrylics and varnish from Royal Talens.

Loosely inspired in a Thorn-Back Cowfish (Lactoria fornasini) but 3 times bigger (yes tree!!! times). Scribble is 60 cm long and stands 40 cm tall including his pedestal made from rocks. Made using old newspapers, paper pulp and paper clay. Painted with Royal Talens Amsterdam acrylics and varnish.

Bril is inspired on a blowfish and made from old newspapers, paper pulp and recycling materials. Brill is 21 cm tall. Painted with Amsterdam acrylics and varnish from Royal Talens.
