Piece Details
While being in Spain during the winter (escaping the cold in the Netherlands) we would take a stroll around the big lake in Calpe where we could see hundreds of flamingos. This inspired me to try to paint one of these beautiful birds.
The official Papiamento name is Chogogo.
The sound name chogogo is a so-called onomatopoeia: the word is based on the typical, honking sound that flamingos make.
Painted with Amsterdam & Amsterdam Expert acrylics and varnish from Royal Talens on 50 x 70 cm stretched canvas.
Note: this painting is not framed.
But possible to hang without frame as the sides are painted too.
