Piece Details
Badak literally means rhinoceros in Indonesian and Malay. I think rhinoceroses are magnificent animals, and it is sad that many of these beautiful creatures are threatened with extinction. During the time I lived in Borneo, I had the opportunity to see the last white rhinoceros in Sabah—unfortunately in captivity—at the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park. Luckily some others are still alive in the wild.
Painted with Amsterdam & Amsterdam Expert acrylics and varnish from Royal Talens on 60 x 60 cm stretched canvas.
Note: this painting is not framed but possible to hang without frame as the sides are painted too. However I have ordered some frames and might update the painting soon with a floating frame.
